2 months

Wow! 2 months already!! I can't believe it, you've changed so much in the past couple of months. I can't believe I'm going back to work soon. Luckily, I will be working for 4 days/week for a while so I will still get to spend 3 days/week with you and evenings. I wish we were more financially inclined and I could take my boss up on the 4 day work week at 80% pay offer, but for now we just have to stick to the regular weeks :(

Here's what you've been up to the past month:

You learned to sit in your Bumbo and do pretty good at it. Your little neck is getting incredibly strong for such a little girl!

You met your Great Grandpa and he was smitten by you and loved holding you

You went to church for the first time for the Christmas Eve service and there were live animals there. Those will be much more exciting for you in the years to come :)

You celebrated your fist Christmas and were spoiled by lots of family!
This pic of Bailey and my dad cracks me up! I think she smiled and he thought it was hilarious (apparently)
My parents and Bailey celebrating Christmas (on my dad's b-day, the 23rd)
in your Christmas outfit that wasn't very Christmasy

Celebrating with Chris's dad
Celebrating with Millie and Bumpa
We got some of your newborn pics developed and I modge podged them onto canvases and we created a little gallery of you! This is one of your favorite things to look at, you think you're just the cutest little baby ;)

We had a cheers with Great Grandpa before he left since he's kind of the reason behind your name. He loves Bailey's Irish Cream so that's why you're named Bailey - in honor of him. So we had a little toast of Bailey's with him and mommy made you a little shirt that says "I'll cheers to that!" which is also a saying he's know for.

You rang in the New Year with mom and dad at home and in bed...super exciting and I'm sure this will be the norm in the future years

Your monkeys love you lots...and they also love your toys/paci

You learned how to roll from your tummy to your back. The first time mommy saw it on NYE and then you wouldn't do it again until Jan 7 and mommy caught it on video

You got some rattles for your hands and feet and love them!

We gave you a bottle (with breast milk) to make sure you wouldn't have any problems with it and you don't seem to have any issues with where your milk comes from so that's good!

Cousin Claire feeding you

You got baptized with 35 other little munchkins and you were such a good little baby and didn't cry during the whole service (thank you!)

We had a little party back at our house afterwards

You cheered on your Vikings against Green Bay in hopes of them making it to the play-offs
Seriously, how could they lose when they had this little sweetheart cheering them on??

Unfortunately, your cuteness just wasn't enough and they lost...and you cried about it all.night.long :( Get used to it little MN sports fan, many disappointments in your future

Daddy will teach you coping mechanisms, he's got a few years of this under his belt!

Mom and dad splurged on a new little activity set for you and you're in love with it! You like to swing your little arms and kick your little feet (sometimes all 4 extremities at once!)

You like to drool and blow bubbles...a lot!

We thought you were getting your first teeth, but the doctor confirmed today that they aren't teeth just some inclusion cysts (which are harmless)

You slept through the night (10pm - 6am) for the first time on Jan 11-12! We loved it!!

Mommy's going to miss these morning snuggle sessions when she goes back to work :(

You went to your first birthday party and helped your friend Maylie celebrate her 1st birthday! You and her will grow to be buds at the cabin I'm sure!
Seriously, the cutest baby I've seen turn 1! She was smiling sooo much and bobbing her head to the music that was playing OMG
Other things to note

Height: 22"

Weight: 10lbs 2.5oz

Head: 15.25"

Places you've been: the only place new this month is church and you were good at each service

Doctor's Appointments: You had an appointment on Jan 15 (exactly 2 months) and got 4 vaccinations. You cried and screamed a little but immediately stopped when daddy picked you up and held you. Daddy and mommy both said on the way out that it went better than we thought it would.

Daycare: Sad, to even have to write about this...but we met with a very nice lady last weekend who I'm pretty confident is going to be taking care of you starting in March (we still have to let her know and hopefully she still wants to watch you ;)). She loved you so much and has a ton of experience with kids (she has 4 herself 12 and younger). All of her references could not say enough good things about her so I feel very comfortable leaving you in her care.

Sleeping: Mostly you do pretty well, but sometimes you are a stinker and don't want to go down for the night. We're still working on getting a better schedule for when mommy goes back to work.

Eating: Still doing great and are eating more now. Mommy has built up a little stash of milk in the freezer for you. You're also fine with taking a bottle which has been nice in the middle of the night sometimes :)

Clothing: You're at an in between stage. You still wear newborn onesies and you switch between newborn and 0-3 month pants.

Diapers: You are wearing size 1 diapers. We haven't started the cloth diapers yet since they are practically as big as your entire body. We bought a large pack of diapers the other week and we're hoping once that pack is gone, we can start the cloth diapers.

Things you like: talking to mommy and daddy in the morning (so freakin cute!), ceiling fans, mommy's crazy songs she sings you, sitting in the bumbo and looking around, watching sports with daddy, watching food network with mommy, your new play gym thing, bath time, your monkeys, bouncing on mommy's exercise ball (somebody's getting use out of it at least!), the hair dryer is calming to you, looking at yourself and mommy in the mirror

On your way to your doctor's appt this morning

Little Miss Bailey Bear,
Mommy and Daddy love you soooo much. There isn't a day that goes by that we aren't laughing with you, smiling at you, have tears streaming down our cheeks because of your preciousness (well, me anyways) and loving your happy little face. Please don't ever stop doing that! Daddy has said so many times that he didn't think he could love anything as much as he loves you (besides me, of course :))  and its so true. I'm going to miss hanging out with you all day, but now daddy gets to do that for a bit until he starts getting busy and all of this stupid white stuff melts away. You have changed so much in two months and are going to keep on getting bigger and stronger and funnier. I'm looking forward to this summer and playing with you outside and maybe we can even take that stroller out for a few walks!

**sorry for the formatting, I've spent more time than I'd like to admit trying to fix it and it still looks like crap on my computer...no clue what's up!

Recap

Holy buckets time is flying by! Feeling a little stressed about the 5 birthdays (hubs, b-i-l, Oscar, s-i-l and dad) in December, our wedding anniversary (tomorrow - Happy 2 year anniversary sweetie) and Christmas! Not to mention a few holiday parties, get-togethers and a few added items to my workload at my job. So since I don't have a ton of time on my hands, I figured I'd share a few amazing recipes I have found on pinterest and have tried out.

Pinned Image
We had these for dinner tonight and they were so delicious. I used chicken instead of pork chops (cuz that's what we had and we don't eat too much pork). The sauce alone is to die for. Chris told me to "dog ear" the recipe. LOL!

parmesan knots 1 450
I made these for Thanksgiving and got many compliments on them! I used crescent rolls instead of biscuits since I had bought them ahead of time (before pinning it). They turned out great! I did not roll them in knots, just made them look like crescent rolls.

I made these last night. So tasty! I am still in shock that it's just bananas and ice cream. Chris and I shared one tonight after dessert. He ate more than I did and he's not one for sweets! I halved the recipe since that's all I had on hand, but I could see myself making more of these. They are only 140 calories, pretty good in my book!

Last Saturday was Chris's (age purposely deleted) birthday.
Enjoying his free mug (seriously, any drink you want in there - I've had a Long Island) at the Valley Bar in Eagan. Hole in the wall bar, but such a great deal for  your birthday! And they give you a mug to take with you ;)

We went out to lunch with his dad at Bonfire (so yummy) and then came back to the house to rest from our food coma. Then we went to Best Buy to get a tripod for our new camera (oh yeah, we bought a DSLR - so excited to figure it all out!!). We have met the most interesting people at our local store. We bought our Mac from the store in August and had a girl (mid 20's) helping us out. She was super nice and had just started out there. We've been in the store a few times since we bought our computer and never fail, she's always there and always comes up to us and remembers BOTH of our names. We both find it shocking/creepy she remembers our names. Of course on Saturday creeper nice saleslady sees us and comes over to check on us and remembers our names. Wasn't much help to us in the camera dept, but just had to stalk check in with us, I guess. After we got home, I made Chris get dressed up for our Christmas Card photo shoot. I thought it would go soooo much better than it did, haha! Either way, we got a picture for our card and I have them ordered. Can't wait to get them and send those suckers out! Saturday night, we met up with some friends at Ansari's in Eagan, Kind of a crazy night, but I think we left before the worst of it :)

Sunday, I don't think I could get enough sleep. It felt so nice to sleep in. The hubs ended up going in to work and I made may way to the neighboring cities for some Christmas shopping. Finally got some stuff checked off my list, still a LOT to go.

Tomorrow I'm looking forward to spending the evening with my love and celebrating our 2 year wedding anniversary. I'm also excited that we were able to book tickets to go to Florida and visit his amazing family in February. The next 2 months are going to go by sooo fast. I can't wait!
