Friday's Letters

Photobucket

Dear blog friends/followers - Sorry I've been slacking BIG time in the blogging department lately. I was sick for 2 weeks which did not help my usual slacker self at all.

Dear crazy pregnant lady (self) – Your hormones are waaaay out of wack and make you seem crazy(er) than you already are. You have developed this habit of laughing uncontrollably at random (non funny) things. Like, can’t move from the couch or you will pee you pants, tears rolling down your face, sounding like a walrus from heaving in air before you pass out kind of uncontrollable laughter. This has happened way too many times lately and it’s kind of embarrassing. Luckily the only ones to really witness this are the dogs and your husband…but still, it’s embarrassing. I guess husband is most likely happy that you’re laughing and not crying or yelling at him…
Dear cashiers at Joann and Office Max – when I purchase paper products (single pieces of scrapbook paper and/or poster board) I do not wish for you to try to roll/fold/bend it into a bag for my inconvenience. When you ask me if I want it in a bag and I tell you no, please listen and don’t roll my paper up so it’s now wrinkled and bent. I didn’t think this was a hard thing to understand, but I guess it is. Plus, large poster board just won’t fit into a small plastic bag.
Dear never-ending to do lists – although husband and I took quite a few things down last weekend, there is still sooo much to do. It’s crazy. You would think I haven’t been doing anything for the past 8 months to prep for baby with how much I still have want to get done. I guess I know what I’ll be doing this weekend
Dear MEA – thank you for happening, you made my drive to work this morning so much better even when it was raining which usually makes for a huge traffic mess. I made it here soooo much faster than I usually do.
Dear weekend - I'm so happy that you're almost here. We don't have much planned except to cross more off of our to-do list. I plan to savor my pre-baby time and take advantage of every minute of it, even if it's spent relaxing on the couch watching the 1st season of Glee on Amazon prime (newly addicted).
What are your plans for the weekend?

Weekend Recap/Early Makeover Monday

I've been such a failure as a blogger lately (amongst other things...working out, cleaning, eating healthy). Ever since I came back from Florida - only a month ago - I've been such a bum! Part of my excuse is that we started another project in our house a few weeks ago and that's pretty much taken up my nights and weekends. The days I'm not working on the new project I feel like relaxing. So the gym and exercise has gone to the wayside for the time being. We're getting close to being done, so hopefully I can get back on track with my eating and working out!!

We had a pretty low key weekend. Friday night, Chris was working and didn't get home until about 9:30 so by the time he was home, ate dinner and took a shower it was nearing 10-10:30. Pretty much this girl's bed time :)

Saturday - we ran some errands in the morning, came home and ate lunch, worked on the project for a little bit and then it was time for him to go to work. He got home earlier Saturday so we got to clear up some space on our DVR.

Sunday - my dad came down in the morning to work on the project and we worked, worked and worked all day. My dad left around 5:30. Chris left for work around 5:15 and has to close tonight. I feel so bad that he has to work all night. I'm so tired and can't imagine working until about 11. I'll be cleaning up, doing laundry and prepping myself for a long week at work. Yikes!

Here's a sneak peak of some of the elements coming into the room (new project). I can't wait to post before and after pics. We love how much has happened already!
This is what started the whole project. I saw this pin on pinterest and showed it to Chris. He LOVED the idea. This is not our bathroom, but we hope to have something similar. Not white, but stained/poly-ed wood.

I have a HUGE love/hate relationship with this stuff. I have used it in our basement, refinished a couple of tables and it's making another appearance in our bathroom. I just realized that I totally just gave our project with my first pic ;)

Some new tiles - this is what we spent ALL day installing today

New hardware for our re-furbished cabinets - so in love with how they look!

One of the wall colors - it's an accent color. It looks awesome with our new cabinet/wood color

Well, that's all I can giveaway for now. Hopefully I can show you the finished project in a few weeks.

Hope you have a great week and are enjoying our fabulous March weather! Spring is here!

Weekend Recap

My weekend was pretty low key. I took Friday off from work just to have some "me time". I intended on getting a lot more done this weekend, but the crappy weather just made me feel sluggish :( Friday I did some cleaning around the house and ran some errands.

Saturday the hubs and I were lazy and just bummed around and watched movies. I made French toast for the first time with potatoes and bacon on the side. The French toast tasted pretty amazing. I made extra since the recipe I followed said you can freeze them and toast them later. I hope it works out :) Saturday evening I went to my sister-in-law's (Whitney & Josh) house for dinner. She made chicken lo mein. It was pretty delicious! I got to hang out with my niece Claire. She has been sick lately so it was so nice to have her back to her normal sweet self. Max, their son, was so smiley and precious. He got his first hair cut on Saturday and looks adorable. I came home and soon Chris joined me after work and we watched "The Mentalist" which is a favorite show of ours.

Sunday morning rolled in and Chris was working all day. I headed out to get the Sunday paper so I could do a little coupon clipping. I found a lot in there to buy, not sure if that's a good thing or not :) I did a little cleaning, laundry, read some of my book and made some chicken wings and potatoes for dinner.

Here are some pics from the weekend:

Finally some sunshine...at 7pm Sunday night. Seriously MN weather, shape up!

I did a little coupon clipping...trying to get in on the Extreme Couponing, but not really there yet!

Mom will you play with me and "the chippy?"

No, ok I'll play with Oscar instead

I hope this week goes by quickly and warms up a bit. I'm really tired of seeing flurries outside!
