6 months

Here's what Bailey Rose got up to this month:

You started off the month a little rough and mommy got a call at work that you were puking at daycare. Nothing a little mommy TLC couldn't resolve. Not gonna lie,  pretty happy that you didn't continue puking while with me :) PS for you new mommies, you're not supposed to give babies formula if they are pukey sick (it dehydrates them) - go with pedialyte (or call your doctor). We went with slightly watered down pedialyte and she was fine.
You don't really look too sick here, but I could tell you weren't your normal Bailey self

Your cousins Claire and Max LOVE to give you lots of kisses!

You celebrated cousin Claire's 4th birthday! I can't believe she's already 4, seems like just yesterday we got the amazingly great news that she was going to be joining our lives!
Claire is the one in the pink (she has a lot of help from her friends/cousins)
Your new thing is to sneak your little hands out of the swaddle and sleep with them behind your head, I think this is so adorable!
We helped Nana and Grandpa Brad at the flip house. You were so helpful!
You also love the new bouncy toy we got you! You have the exact same one at daycare :)
Daddy, Mommy and you went out to dinner at Old Chicago and we were SO happy to see they have brought back the nachos that they took off the menu in December. Probably the best news ever!
Cheers for Nachos!
You drew mommy and daddy some pics on the iPad - you're so talented!
Hi mama, I'm so BIG
I tried to get you to crawl to my nacho plate, just cuz that would be really cool but we're not quite crawling yet. So, so close!
You are so silly sometimes when we put you down for a nap. You were staring up at us smiling and giggling here and we didn't want you to go to sleep
We went on quite a few walks this month. The weather is finally getting much nicer. I love jogging and walking with you!
You had your 6 month check-up on May 9. You look a little concerned about what the scale would say, but you're still a little peanut :)
Nana loves to spend time with you and snuggle with you. You take some pretty cute pics together!
I put you in your big girl chair that mommy recovered from the trash last summer. It's still not completely finished, but you look pretty cute (and grown up!) in it
I got to celebrate my first Mother's Day with you. It was such a wonderful day and definitely puts a whole new meaning to the day
You got to visit Nana and Grandpa Brad's baby geese. You weren't quite sure what to think...don't worry, you're not the only one ;)
You celebrated your Nana's 5- birthday this month!
That's cousin Max and Nana with her yummy cake! Photo courtesy of s-i-l Whit :)
Other things to note

Height: 26"
Weight: 15lbs
Head: 17"
Places you've been: Still no zoo (worst parents ever!), a few garage sales, a trip to the mall without a stroller (that was interesting)
Doctor's Appointments: 6 month appt was on May 9. You did sooo good. You got 4 shots and only cried for about a minute.
Daycare: They love you there! We got some pretty bad news this month. Our daycare lady is moving at the end of May. It's a great step for her and her family, but really stinks for the daycare situation. We are going to continue to bring you to her new place in Elko (25 min from our house). We're planning to do this until the winter as long as it works for everyone. She felt so bad when she told us and didn't expect us to bring you down there, but we want you to be in her care, so we'll make it work-somehow!
Sleeping: you've slept in your crib every single night. I can't believe how well this transition went for you. You're amazing! Sometimes we even have to wake you up in the morning!
Eating: 6oz every 3-4 hours. You've still been getting rice cereal about once/day. We took a break after you got sick this month. You also started some bananas this month and you seem to like them so far!
Clothing: Mostly wearing 3 and 3-6 month clothes
Diapers: You are wearing size 2 diapers when you wear regular diapers and cloth is still going great!
Things you like: watching your puppies (you think they're hilarious), Kirby gets excited to get you up in the morning, the song "I got you"(I feel good) by James Brown - it's our go-to if you're upset (rare), swinging, splashing in the pool, watching the kids at daycare blow bubbles, your exersaucer/bouncer toy, getting attention from strangers (makes you a little shy, but you always smile), your hands are amazing to you - you just stare at them, you are so much more interactive with us - you know your name, you are more mobile and you like to grab at things/chew on things
Mommy likes: you love it when mommy sings, dances and talks, when you see mommy pick you up at daycare - you get so excited
Daddy likes: still loving when daddy comes home from work or when we call him. Most of the time you try to eat/kiss the phone and end up hanging up on him.

Bailey Bear (from Daddy this month)~
You are the most amazing little sweetheart we could ever ask for!  The love/joy/fun/excitement you have brought to our lives is beyond our greatest expectations!  You have the sweetest personality and are a genuinely happy little girl, and for that we are so thankful.  You are such an easy baby to care for - you rarely cry, you are always smiling and you sleep so well.  We can tell your little heart is happy and at peace.  You are growing up so quickly and we never imagined watching you change could be so fun and impact us like it has!  Thank you for being the biggest blessing of our lives.  We love you Bailey Rose!  Love, Daddy

You've grown into such a beautiful, happy baby!

I'd like to note that while I wrote the majority of this post over a week ago, it was very difficult to finish it last night knowing that there are so many families who lost their kids/babies yesterday. I'm so sorry for the people in Moore, OK for the terrible storm that passed through yesterday. Hearing the news playing last night was torture to think what it would be like to be in their shoes. Praying for the families that were affected!!

4 months

How is it possible for you to get cuter every.single.day?? You light up our lives so much and we are SO BLESSED to have you. I don't want to think about our lives before you were here. Sure, there may be a vacation to Florida, like we usually do in the late winter/early spring, but that doesn't even compare to the amount of joy that you've brought us in the past 4 months!

Here's what you've been doing this month:
You started daycare on March 1!
You've done so well, I will probably cry if I ever see an "x" next to grumpy :(

Your daycare lady and her kids absolutely love you! I love picking you up and seeing your smiling face that ensures me you are happy there!
Pics from daycare of you!

You participated in the annual Moss Basket Days! I can't wait to see what we created in a couple of months!

Cambrie, Bailey and Claire!

Mommy finally completed your "baby blanket" for you...we won't discuss how much that cost :S

You and Henry joined Megan and I for an afternoon at Target to pick up some bridal shower gifts. You slept a lot of the trip and when you woke up, you were a smiley little girl:)
Bailey's date: Mr Henry - so cute!

Mommy, daddy and you ventured out to Bonfire for a date night. You were so good and napped for most of it and didn't cry when you were awake...seriously, such a good baby!

Your little monkey friends got haircuts. We went to a new place and are SO IMPRESSED with the friendliness, price and the additional services they offer compared to our usual place!

You got your first (and second...seen in the 4 month photos above) pair of baby legs. I'm obsessed and have pinned a tutorial to make my own cuz you know I will be breaking the bank with that obsession!

Practicing for Easter photos :)

You wake up happy. I wish that I was this happy when I woke up in the morning (soooo not the case!) Daddy is lucky to see that little face when he wakes up 5 days/week....wish it was me!

Hi dad! Let's go play now!

You are so observant these days! You notice when things are "out of place"

Geoffrey the Giraffe is usually on my right side...what's he doing on the other side, hmmm??

You like to help mama in the kitchen and thank goodness for that radio...you love to see mama dance and sing (you will have no rhythm and will be tone deaf in the future...but you're laughing now :))

Making a veggie tray!

Other things to note

Height: 24.25"
Weight: 13lbs 3oz
Head: 16.25"
Places you've been: Daycare (although you had visited there before), nana's, the usual stores, a few restaurants
Doctor's Appointments: none this month, you go in next Wednesday for your 4 month appt and will get shots again :(
Daycare: you started March 1. It's going so well, everyone loves you there! When I go to pick you up, Kristin's oldest daughter (12) is always holding you and she can't get enough of you!
Sleeping: Overall this is going well (maybe Chris should fill this one out since he is the one that gets up with you when you don't sleep). When you're on mommy's watch you sleep through the night pushing 11-12 hours! I like this routine :)
Eating: You eat every 3-4 hours and gobble down about 5oz each time
Clothing: Mostly wearing 0-3 and 3 month clothes
Diapers: You are wearing size 1 diapers when you wear regular diapers. You are almost always in a cloth diaper now and it's going really well! I'll throw a disposable on if I think you're going to poop soon. We have a pretty good system of washing the cloth diapers too - so I'm really happy with our decision to go cloth and Kristin doesn't seem to mind using them at daycare either!
Things you like: Sophie, your puppies and watching them play, sports on TV, your ceiling fans
Mommy likes: my hair - when down you like to pull it, and you like to watch me put it up in a ponytail too, watching me dance, hearing me sing - daddy took an embarrassing video of me singing to you that he plays to make you smile
Daddy likes: his fake laugh to get you to laugh, his monkey noises, watching sports together, hearing daddy's voice on the phone when he's working

Bailey Bear~
You are amazing, just simply amazing. I stare at your picture collages at work all.day.long. I laugh and smile constantly while looking at them (I think they're starting a special program at work just for me ;)). I know you're in great care with your daddy or Kristin (daycare lady)...although your outfits may not be perfect with daddy - he is trying his best and doing a great job :) I am often told how good of a baby you are and how smiley you are and I've recently come to realize that this is true! We hardly hear a cry out of you, it's usually just babbling, giggling or laughing - please don't stop this - EVER!

Friday Letters

Dear Friday: Thank you for making an appearance!!

Dear Bailey's daycare lady: Thank you so much for sending home a disc of Bailey's 3 days with you. They are adorable! Keep 'em coming!

Dear Treadmill: I owned you yesterday (4 miles in 42 mins...Go Me!)! I am so anxious to get back into running!

Dear Bailey: Sorry that I chose to call your daycare lady yesterday to see if you could hang out there for an extra hour and a half so mommy could get her run on. Talk about mom guilt! Trust me, if my body could magically be in shape without effort - I would MUCH rather hang with you than the dreadmill!

Dear Snow: I'm tired of you, please go away! I want spring so I can play outside with my baby

Dear Boss Lady's Daughter: I seriously hope you feel better soon!! You were diagnosed with a bad case of pneumonia yesterday and have been battling colds, flus, now pneumonia for the past month. I feel so bad for you (and your mama!). Please get well soon!

Dear Fellow Moss Basketers: I'm excited to create our baskets this weekend! It's always such a fun day and I'm so happy that Bailey can join us this year!

Dear Nightmares: Please don't ever repeat the one I had last night. Running through a mall trying to find my baby in different stores is NOT how I want to spend my nights sleeping (or lack thereof)

Dear Family: I love you! You make me so happy every day...even on the bad ones :) We're a pretty awesome "Team Thydean"

Happy Friday Friends!

What I'm Loving and What I Made Link-ups

I’m doing a combo link-up today…cuz I can J
I’m loving:
That it’s Wednesday so we’re half way through the week and Chris has the night off so we’re going out to dinner tonight, yay!
That Bailey is doing well at daycare so far…2 days down and everyone seems to be happy

That this weekend Bailey and I will be meeting up with some ladies for our annual Moss Basket Day at Pahl’s Market. I love picking the basket up in May and get a surprise of what’s been planted. I don’t do the same one every year so it’s always a surprise!

Moss Basket Days 2012

That my boss lady was really nice yesterday and let us leave at 2. I wish we could’ve not worked at all, but such is life
That spring is near…you can’t tell by the ton of snow that dumped on us yesterday
My new sewing machine…I have big plans for it. Hopefully I have time to accomplish all that I want to!
Bailey’s smiling face when I get home or pick her up from daycare. It’s such a great feeling that she recognizes me/my voice

Mom-a-Logues

What I made:
I started making Bailey a blanket while pregnant with her and had such a hard time using my mom’s sewing machine. I’m about 95% sure that there is nothing wrong with the machine and it’s my lack of experience with sewing/machines but I kept having issues with the tension and finally asked Chris last Friday if I could buy a sewing machine. He lovingly said yes…so off to the store I went. I’m sure I got a better machine than I need, but I hope that I can use it for many things on my Pinterest boards that I’ve wanted to make. Anyways…long story short what has taken me 9+ months to finish only took about 30 minutes with the new machine. It’s absolutely the furthest thing from being perfect, but I’m sure Bailey will enjoy snuggling with it J

This weekend I...

Linking up with Syndal & Sar for 'This Weekend I...'

This weekend I met up with my friend Sarah on Friday night for dinner at Macaroni Grill. I have only eaten there a couple of times, but OMG it was good! Yum, yum! I brought Bailey with since Chris was working and she was good pretty much the whole time. Sarah is due June 28 and I am so excited to throw her a baby shower in May! We hammered out a few of the details and will know more when she finds out the gender next month, so excited for her and her hubby!

Sarah and Bailey at Macaroni Grill
This weekend Bailey got the cutest little boots from Sarah as a late Christmas present. I couldn’t wait to get them on her little feet and she wore them on Saturday too. So adorable!
So stinkin cute!
This weekend we went to Bailey’s daycare provider’s place on Saturday morning. Each time we meet up with her I feel more confident that she is the best choice for Bailey. She has 4 kids (12, 7, 3 and 15 months) and all of them were there on Saturday. The 2 oldest asked if they could hold Bailey and the youngest was so interested in her. I can tell their family is so loving and it makes me feel good that Bailey gets to be around them and have them loving on her all day long.
This weekend we went to Chipotle after the daycare lady’s house and had lunch. I got the salad and it was so delish! My friend Megan introduced me to the salad this summer and I’m so happy she did – yum!
This weekend I got my workout on! I did Zumba (on PS3), ran a mile on the ‘mill and some crunches/sit-ups on Saturday. On Sunday, I did the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred dvd. I’m really feeling that one today – yowza!

I used to be so much better at the moves than I am now, I guess I need to do the video/game more often!
This weekend I made a Valentine’s Day tutu for Bailey. I can’t wait to dress her up in it! I’m such a dork and love dressing her up in tutus and bows. I’m pretty sure I’m scarring her for life by doing this, but she just looks so dang cute – I can’t help it!
The tutu is complete, I just don't have a completed picture and hubby is probably still sleeping otherwise I would request him to send a pic
This weekend I gave Bailey a bath all on my own (first time). I decided to take some cute pics of her before her bath in her little robe and slippers to send to dad…well, I took too long and Bailey peed on her robe and the changing pad. I thought my little pep talk before hand about it being a bad time to potty would work but I guess not! Little stinker!

Look how happy I am cuz I'm peeing and you don't know it :)
This weekend I got pretty good sleep at night. Bailey did really well with sleeping, we just need to get her going to sleep earlier in the night. Saturday was her best night and she slept for 9 hours! I couldn’t believe it. Hopefully she will get better about going down for the evening and Chris can figure out a method to get her to sleep. Always room for improvement J

This weekend I loved on my little peanut all 3 days! She is so much fun to be around and from what I hear, it only gets better as they get older. I can’t wait!

Please note her little hand grasping my arm. Chris and I love when she does this!
I hope you had a great weekend! I’m not liking the roads today! I made it to work good, but almost turned around due to the glare ice on one of the roadways, yuck!
Bailey says "Drive Safe Everyone!"
